There are certain experiences that remind you just how special it is to be part of a creative community. Our recent evening at the ballet was one of those moments.
Members of the Philly Influencer Mixer had the opportunity to attend The Merry Widow presented by Philadelphia Ballet at the historic Academy of Music. The evening brought together a group of incredible women from our community to enjoy a night of culture, storytelling, and artistry in one of Philadelphia’s most iconic theaters.
From the moment we arrived at the Academy of Music, there was a sense of excitement in the air. If you’ve never experienced the Academy of Music, the venue alone is always breathtaking. Ornate details, sweeping staircases, and the kind of timeless elegance that makes a night at the ballet feel truly special.
Once the performance began, The Merry Widow delivered everything you could hope for in a classic ballet production. The choreography was captivating, the costumes were stunning, and the storytelling unfolded beautifully on stage. Oh and it was spicy! It was a reminder of how powerful live performance can be and how fortunate we are to have world-class cultural institutions like Philadelphia Ballet right here in our city.
One of the highlights of the evening came after the final bows. Our group was invited backstage for a special behind-the-scenes visit. This rare opportunity allowed our members to step into the world behind the curtain. Gaining a deeper appreciation for the artistry, dedication, and teamwork that bring a production like this to life.
Creating opportunities for our community to gather, connect, and experience the arts together is something we care deeply about. Seeing a group of talented, supportive women come together to celebrate creativity, culture, and each other felt especially meaningful during Women’s History Month.
There’s something powerful about women uplifting one another. Sharing space, sharing ideas, and supporting each other’s work and journeys. Moments like this, this is exactly why the Philly Influencer Mixer community exists.
