Briefly tell us about yourself.
My name is Alana and I am a digital artist, poet and content creator originally from New Jersey, and now based out of Philadelphia. My content primarily focuses on lifestyle, fashion, things to do, and skincare/makeup.
How many years have you been blogging/creating content?
I have been a photographer for 10 years, and content creator for 3 years.
Give us your best tip to staying on top of the blog/work/life balance?
Keeping things organized, keeping your notes and thoughts all in one place makes things easier to come back to and execute.
What is your favorite/go to app?
Canva and VSCO, VSCO for editing photos, canva for making quick social graphics
Is there any app or business tool that you swear by?
Kale for brand collaborations
What pieces of advice would you give to someone just starting out in the world of content creation and blogging?
Just do it, niches aren’t for everyone, but if you find someone you love and that works, stick to it.
Have you ever taken a break from social media? Do you think it’s important to do so?
Yes, it’s always important to do a social cleanse, especially when a lot of content can be toxic or disingenuous.
What is your main focus, blog, Instagram or other?
What do you enjoy writing about most? If you don’t have a blog, what is your favorite type of content to create?
Food reviews or day in the life vlogs! Anything that shows more of my personal life and taste
Were you positively or negatively impacted due to COVID? How so and what has that looked like? Any advice?
I wouldn’t say Covid was the reason for me starting to create content, but during that transitional period in 2021/22 when I transferred schools and moved back to Philly I found myself making great connections with existing content creators in the city who truly inspired me.
Do you blog/create content full-time or part-time?
Part time
Tell us your dream partnership? Who do you dream of working with and what do you want to do?
I would love to work with a travel company or camera backpack company, I’m picky when it comes to bags; and finding a camera bag that works best for me and is comfortable has been a challenge
What is your current goal for blogging/creating content?
Turn it into a second source of income
What does a typical day look like for you? Whether you create content part-time or full-time.
Right now, recently post grad as of May 2025, I am working game day staff with the eagles part time, the other part time is spent with friends/family, making content, art and going on adventures. I am also learning new hobbies like skateboarding.
What was your most recent WIN with your blog/creating content?
Joining PIM! And being able to capture content at DC world pride
How has your content changed since you first starting creating content?
I think my editing has become more solidified, and I’ve diversified my content.
What makes your blog/content different from everyone else?
I don’t stick to one niche, I pretty much post whatever content I like while also strategically planning my feed.
What is one thing you wished people knew about blogging/creating content?
You don’t need a fancy phone or editing app! Everything can be done right in the platforms as a beginner. Also- utilize every resource that TikTok/instagram have available to you when it comes to content creation.
What is one thing that frustrates you about blogging/creating content?
When content doesn’t perform as well as others. BUT that shows me more of what my audience does and doesn’t gravitate towards.
What is something that people may not know about you? Any special skills or achievements?
I used to play the drums, and I was a D1 track athlete before an injury let me to transfer schools.
